Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer Project Manager to lead our design team on transportation infrastructure projects for local agencies and clients in the Pacific Northwest. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading design projects, maintaining quality control, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide design projects for transportation structures, including roads, highways, and bikeways
  • Direct the project design, tracking metrics like budget, timeline, and potential risks
  • Ensure the final work meets quality standards
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members and work with leaders in various roles within the company
  • Assist in developing proposals and managing client relationships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
  • 7+ related roadway and transportation design and project management experience required, 10+ years preferred
  • Experience leading design tasks or serving as roadway design lead required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Oregon required
  • Experience with ODOT or other state department of transportation required, knowledge of ODOT design standards is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office required
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads/Civil 3D preferred
  • Prior proposal development and client relationship management experience is desirable, relationships with local agencies a plus

  • Experience winning and delivering design projects for Oregon clients is preferred
  • Interest in mentoring junior staff and being part of a growing team based in Portland that supports projects in the Pacific Northwest and other offices around the country
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels
  • Excels in advanced thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
