We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our Smart Mobility Practice in Oregon. As a key member of our Traffic Design Team, you will work on a variety of traffic engineering design and transportation analysis projects.

This position will serve as a technical expert for traffic design tasks on transportation projects, including traffic signals, signing, striping, temporary traffic control, illumination, and ITS communications. Expertise in transportation analysis is desired, but not required.

You will have the opportunity to be a project task lead and mentor junior staff, supporting work in the Oregon Smart Mobility group in Portland and Salem, OR. Responsibilities will include managing traffic design tasks or projects, overseeing design plans, building relationships with clients and peers, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage traffic design tasks or projects of varying degrees
  • Oversee, design, or review design plans and specifications
  • Build relationships with clients and peers
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Design traffic engineering projects, including signing and striping, signals, temporary traffic control, illumination, and ITS communications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including traffic engineering design
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
