Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Vehicle Engineering Project Manager to join our team at IT Motives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex rail vehicle engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors to deliver projects.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including rail operations, maintenance, and customer service teams, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mitigate project risks, identifying and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver projects.
  • Monitor and report project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and customers.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Rail Vehicle, or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registration in the State of Oregon (desired).
  • Project Management Professional certification (preferred).
  • At least 6 years of experience in project management or engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in transportation, rail/bus transit, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
