About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Portland Transportation group. As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of transportation projects throughout the West Region, including roadway design, transportation and multi-modal planning, construction management, and safety audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop transportation projects, including roadways, highways, and rail infrastructure
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Provide technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
  • Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
  • Prepare technical specification sections
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
  • Directly manage junior-level staff

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Oregon Professional Engineers License or ability to obtain license within six months
  • Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/civil infrastructure projects, including calculations
  • Prior experience designing railroads/highways/roadways for transportation projects
  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
  • Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written
  • Design Build experience preferred
