Senior Analyst of Business Risk and Controls

Position Overview:

The Senior Analyst of Business Risk and Controls plays a critical role in risk management within the organization. This position is primarily responsible for the implementation and support of Operational Risk Management initiatives across various finance functions, including but not limited to Scenario Analysis, Operational Loss Management, Third Party Oversight, Key Risk Indicators, and Fraud Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee Finance Operational Risk Management programs, ensuring effective execution throughout their lifecycle.
  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of reports for senior leadership and relevant committees.
  • Utilize business knowledge to identify and address documentation, process, or control deficiencies.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with Finance-related policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate and govern the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) process.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced risk and control environment, effectively managing high-priority deadlines.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory and internal audit inquiries.
  • Support transformation initiatives as required.
  • Track and monitor deliverables to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in risk management or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across functions.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders across various business lines and support functions.
  • Proactive approach to work and initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience in project management and governance, with a proven track record of meeting critical milestones.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as CIA or CPA.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, or Treasury within a financial services environment.
  • Prior involvement in executing Operational Risk Management programs.
  • Experience in internal or external auditing.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, Access, or Tableau.
Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
