Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday.

Role Purpose

The Construction Manager plays a crucial role in orchestrating and overseeing all construction activities across various project sites. This position serves as the primary liaison between Construction and other departments such as HSE, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and Project Controls, as well as key personnel from the Client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the functional leadership, coordination, and performance of all on-site construction operations and associated support departments including HSE, Quality, Material Management, Procurement, Construction Engineering, and Project Controls.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a construction culture that prioritizes safety and environmental consciousness.
  • Guide the Project Team in crafting the Construction Execution Plan, including work breakdown structures, construction schedules, resource allocations, equipment rental timelines, and progress forecasts.
  • Maintain ownership of the Construction Execution Plan by continuously evaluating the project landscape and updating the plan while effectively communicating construction needs within the Project Team.
  • Ensure all direct reports fully comprehend the Construction Execution Plan and related information essential for successful project execution, leading the site team towards project success.
  • Identify key project stakeholders early and cultivate strong relationships through effective communication.
  • Monitor and manage costs, schedules, progress, and productivity, analyzing deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Advise management on developments that may impact project timelines, costs, client relations, and interdepartmental dynamics.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of change orders, project cost analysis, and reporting.
  • Delegate responsibilities and authority to team members for effective planning and execution of tasks.
  • Thoroughly review contracts and all relevant scope documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure all major and minor equipment and bulk materials are identified, procured, delivered, and issued in accordance with project timelines.
  • Prepare subcontract scopes of work, evaluate bids, and recommend awards.
  • Foster an environment of open and honest communication between H+M and the Owner, aiming for excellence in client relationships.
  • Participate in constructability reviews to ensure adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Represent the company and project team during bidding processes, project scope development, client meetings, and project management discussions.
  • Adhere to company policies as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook and Work Processes, as well as industry standards and regulations.
  • Follow written or verbal instructions and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of industrial construction experience, with at least 3 years in direct construction supervision; EPC experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of earning respect and credibility through actions and effective communication.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve project and organizational objectives.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Utilize hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.
Work Environment

Working conditions include both typical office settings and indoor/outdoor manufacturing environments, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, working at elevated heights, climbing stairs and ladders, and handling tools and mechanical equipment. This role requires the use of standard manufacturing personal protective equipment, as well as advanced protective gear as necessary.
