Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze construction packages for electrical and instrumentation projects to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Perform precise take-offs to support project estimation and optimize work hours and crew configurations for efficient project execution.
  • Obtain quotes for materials, equipment, and services needed for accurate estimates and adjust unit rates based on project-specific conditions and requirements.
  • Participate in pre-bid site walks to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and develop initial plans for project execution.
  • Compile take-offs into standardized templates and programs to develop work-hour estimates and draft detailed proposals for client review and submission.
  • Engage with clients to address any questions or concerns during the proposal phase and facilitate a comprehensive handover to the construction supervisor, including a detailed estimate explanation.
  • Utilize job completion data to refine and adjust unit rates, ensuring competitive and accurate estimates.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of estimating/planning experience in industrial and commercial construction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on field experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
  • TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
  • Familiarity with the Conest Estimating Program is a plus.
