About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Sales Manager to lead our service sales growth and drive business success. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in steering our service business to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop a Sales Team: Lead, develop, and motivate a talented sales team to achieve optimal results and skills improvement.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Create and maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring focused attention through the sales team and personally interacting with key customers.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Assist sales personnel with developing and delivering effective sales presentations and comprehensive service proposals.
  • Business Growth and Development: Provide strategic direction and tactical insights as needed to drive sales growth.
  • Quote and Estimate Review: Review and approve all service sales quotes and estimates, seeking assistance from Operations Manager as needed.
  • Sales Strategy and Innovation: Develop new and innovative sales strategies to identify opportunities for both new and existing customers, and spearhead the design and implementation of strategic marketing approaches.
  • Contract and Pricing Management: Review customer-specific purchasing contracts, pricing agreements, and terms and conditions, providing approval in collaboration with Operations Manager as needed.
  • Sales Support and Assistance: Provide assistance in key sales situations to close deals and drive revenue growth.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor performance and profit standards on service maintenance contracts, quoted service work, and T&M projects.
  • Sales Funnel Management: Manage all aspects of sales funnel activities and analysis to create, update, and manage effective utilization of sales team efforts.
  • Cross-Selling and Upselling: Support existing building focus with cross-selling management of service opportunities and project opportunities in collaboration with VP of IPG and Service Operations Manager.
  • Sales Training and Development: Assist Operations Manager with enhancing service technicians' ability to sell while at customer sites.
  • Staffing and Planning: Plan, organize, and staff key service sales positions to accommodate department activity.
  • Customer Service and Relations: Partner with Operations Manager and Business Supervisor to develop and implement systems and procedures that foster positive customer relations and ensure prompt and thorough resolution of customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Complaint Resolution: Investigate potentially serious customer complaints to help remedy the situation and/or implement corrective measures as required.
  • Process Improvement: Work with Operations Manager and Business Supervisor to explore new systems and methodologies that can improve customer service and employee performance.
  • Department Budgeting and Planning: Partner with Operations Manager and Business Supervisor to develop department budget, monitor expenses, and ensure the group operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Commission Payments: Review with sales account managers and approve quarterly sales commission payments.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Four-year degree in a related discipline, with a marketing emphasis (or relevant experience).
  • Industry Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience (10+ years) with and knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Boiler Service estimating and marketing, with at least 5 successful years in a key marketing or operational position.
  • Leadership and Sales Experience: Preference towards sales and leadership experience with an OEM in a relevant industry.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop professional proposals and sales presentations.
  • Negotiation and Follow-Through Skills: Superior negotiation and follow-through skills.
  • Leadership and Mentoring Skills: Outstanding leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Industry Knowledge and Solutions Selling: Industry knowledge that provides solutions selling across all lines of service, including support of large opportunities and complex customers.
  • Management and Innovation Skills: Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong MS Office skills, Sales Software & App experience highly desirable.
