Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Hillwood Energy team, the Financial Analyst will report to an Associate and maintain a collaborative relationship with the VP of Finance. This role requires a robust understanding of quantitative analysis and financial modeling, complemented by sound business insight.

Key Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will be instrumental in enhancing the financial dimensions of Hillwood Energy's investment strategies, primarily concentrating on our domestic portfolio. Your contributions will include:

  • Developing advanced financial models for the acquisition and advancement of oil and gas investments.
  • Evaluating intricate financing structures for deals and conducting stress tests on proposed frameworks.
  • Creating comprehensive internal and external reports, along with various presentation materials.
  • Engaging with senior management to provide updates on project status, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Assisting the Associate with additional projects and requests as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid foundation in Accounting and Finance.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in financial modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with confidence in presenting to groups.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • A proactive work ethic, resourcefulness, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • A self-driven attitude focused on producing high-quality work.
  • A willingness to learn and collaborate within a small team, along with a readiness to assist beyond primary responsibilities.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating strong academic performance. A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in sectors such as banking, private equity, or upstream oil and gas is preferred.
