Job Title: Production Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality. This role involves directing a team of hourly employees, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to meet production quotas and deadlines.
  • Direct and lead a team of hourly employees, providing guidance, coaching, and discipline as needed.
  • Assign work, analyze productivity, and workflow, making recommendations to management to optimize production methods and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, and identifying solutions.
  • Enforce company policies and plant rules, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with the union to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Complete production labor schedules, scheduling and assigning personnel, and monitoring progress to minimize overtime.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and safety environment.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization through effective communication.
  • Ability to perform with excellent skills in analytical reasoning.
  • Ability to foster a workplace of collaboration and positive reinforcement for all employees.
  • Ability to recognize and support skills development of employees in the department.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products, SAP preferred.
  • Proficient use of computer programs and software.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and competing demands.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
