Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate with Carriers: Develop and maintain relationships with common carrier representatives to secure the best rates for our clients.
  • Site Management: Oversee the daily operations of the distribution center, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Manage daily bank deposits, create and balance work logs, and audit labor and billing reports.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customer needs are met on a daily basis, resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Associate Management: Supervise and train warehouse associates, ensuring that they are following company policies and work rules.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure that all associates are participating.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing the site and departmental budget, preparing management reports as needed.
  • Scheduling: Schedule associate shifts based on customer requirements.
  • Training and Development: Interview, hire, and train new associates, ensuring that they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting, preferably in logistics or distribution.
  • Customer Service: Proven experience in providing high levels of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Leadership: Ability to train, coach, and mentor warehouse associates.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, with the ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial Management: Ability to manage budgets, read and interpret P&L statements, and prepare management reports.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate PC skills, with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
