The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Attack Surface Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on multiple complex security systems, specifically involving externally facing digital properties.

Your primary focus will be on discovering, inventorying, and classifying digital assets, with a focus on vulnerability identification and remediation. You will also provide subject matter expertise on the attack surface, working closely with asset owners to identify opportunities for reconfiguration, implementation of mitigating controls, and overall risk reduction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Attack Surface Management: Drive beneficial security change into the business by identifying and ticketing vulnerabilities and misconfigurations of assets that face the internet on the attack surface.
  • Security Liaison: Act as a liaison between the business and technology from a security perspective, maintaining an overview of the attack surface as a whole and its security aspects.
  • Tooling and Analysis: Leverage tooling suites to identify weaknesses in ports and protocols exposed directly to the internet, opine on the risk associated with current configurations and deployments, and recommend meaningful changes to increase the security posture.
  • Policy and Standards: Partner with Risk and Architecture teams to drive policy and standards that promote stronger security controls and postures.
  • Industry Trends: Monitor industry trends for opportunities to improve the posture of the attack surface, including zero-day vulnerability identification and remediation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in Cyber Security
  • Experience with inventorying and classifying assets of large-scale and complex environments
  • A broad and deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, controls, risk mitigation, and remediation strategies
  • Applied knowledge and experience in cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, vulnerability management, and control deployment
  • Experience with DNS and Web Application Security
  • Experience with threat modeling and attack surface management is a plus
