ABOUT THE POSITION
Switchgear Solutions, Inc. is in search of a skilled Electrical Service Specialist.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial knowledge and hands-on experience with motors, switchgear, transformers, control systems, variable frequency drives, protective relays, and various electrical apparatus.

As a service specialist, travel to client locations across the Western US will be a fundamental aspect of the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute electrical installations, including but not limited to conduit, cabling, low and medium voltage switchgear, and electrical devices.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of electrical and electronic systems, both in indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in low voltage and medium voltage systems ranging from 120v to 46kv.
  • Utilize electrical testing instruments such as DVMs, megger, ammeters, hipot, ductor, Doble, etc. effectively.
  • Interpret and comprehend electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Exhibit thorough knowledge of electrical principles, with experience in both AC and DC power circuits.
  • Maintain a general understanding of low & medium voltage circuit breakers.
  • Travel to perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency projects as required.
  • Carry out basic control wiring installations using schematics and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision.
  • Provide and maintain personal tools necessary for the job.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years of electrical experience is preferred.
  • Experience with utility companies and heavy industry is advantageous.
  • Electrical education or relevant certifications are beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong customer relations skills and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations are necessary.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and maintaining organization.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make prompt decisions.
  • Commitment to adhering to standard safety practices to ensure safe and efficient work processes.
  • Proven reliability and dependability in previous roles. Availability for overtime as needed.
  • Physical capability to perform all necessary duties, which may include bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, or standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment and work around industrial machinery.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in various geographic locations (both indoors and outdoors).
  • Regular driving to job sites is an integral part of this position.
  • Willingness to undergo background and drug screening processes.
