Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Structural Manager to oversee the Bridge Structures Department in Mechanicsburg, PA. This department specializes in transportation-related structural projects, often collaborating on multi-disciplinary initiatives. Our clientele includes various transportation agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management for the Bridge Structures department.
  • Take full ownership of interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
  • Supervise a team of structural engineers, drafters/designers, and other personnel.
  • Coordinate unit activities and serve as the Structures Lead for various assignments.
  • Plan and develop engineering tasks, including defining project scope and exploring innovative solutions.
  • Act independently on technical matters relevant to the field.

Our Greater Pennsylvania Area structures group has recently completed notable projects, including:

  • Schuylkill Banks Trail Extension: An extensive pedestrian bridge project enhancing connectivity along the Schuylkill River.
  • SR M Over Lehigh River & NSRR: A significant bridge replacement project showcasing innovative engineering techniques.

Current Initiatives:

We are actively engaged in multiple major bridge and corridor reconstruction projects across Pennsylvania, focusing on enhancing transportation infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in project management or technical leadership within the structural engineering domain.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with projects involving state transportation agencies.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools.
  • Strong skills in utilizing MS Office Suite for documentation and presentations.
