Wilson | Consulting Group is in search of a skilled Transportation Bridge Engineer to join our team. This role will see you acting as a Project Engineer and Technical Leader, responsible for steering the technical direction of various projects from initial design through to the successful completion of construction. A Pennsylvania Professional Engineer's license and evidence of relevant recent experience are prerequisites for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Project Managers in the technical development of bridge projects from design to construction completion.
- Prepare and review calculations, construction documents, specifications, quantities, estimates, and bidding materials.
- Provide expert consultation during the construction phase of in-house bridge designs, including reviewing contractor submissions.
- Prepare and review designs for temporary works required by contractors (including shoring, jacking, demolition/erection plans, falsework, and formwork).
- Act as Engineer of Record, addressing technical challenges throughout the design and construction phases, while mentoring junior design personnel.
- Collaborate with support staff and project subconsultants to ensure the comprehensive development of bridge design projects.
- If certified, assist in conducting and reviewing all tasks related to NBIS Bridge Safety Inspection programs, including field inspections, bridge assessments, load ratings, and critical deficiency action plans.
- Additional responsibilities may evolve based on employee development and feedback regarding career progression.
Experience and Skills Required
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering – mandatory.
- Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineering License in Pennsylvania – mandatory; NBIS Certification – preferred.
- Experience: 8 to 15 years of bridge engineering and design experience in Pennsylvania – mandatory.
- Experience with: PennDOT and municipal bridge design – mandatory; construction engineering experience – preferred.
- Proficiency in: AASHTO and PennDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, PennDOT Software, ECMS, and PennBid – mandatory.
- Skills in: Preparing bridge design calculations, plans, technical specifications, estimates, and comprehensive bidding documents – mandatory.
- Essential skills: Strong time management, communication, analytical, and organizational abilities, along with critical thinking skills in a collaborative team environment – mandatory.
- Preferred: Exposure to or experience with geotechnical and hydraulic aspects of bridge design.
