Job Summary

The Office Coordinator - Cardiac Care Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the front office of the Cardiac Center. This includes greeting patients, managing phone calls, and coordinating with clinical staff to achieve coherent workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Scheduling: Organize patient scheduling activities, including maintenance of Physician schedules in the Centricity system, and ensure knowledge and accuracy for appointment types and patient acuity.
  2. Front Office Management: Manage the front office, including screening and receiving telephone calls, responding to inquiries, and referring to appropriate personnel as needed.
  3. Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage benefits and advise patients of therapy, tests, and procedures covered by the payer source.
  4. Electronic Systems Management: Maintain competency in operation of multiple electronic systems, including Centricity, MUSE, MARS, and basic operating systems.
  5. Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison between the Cardiac Center, Rehab, and physician offices, ensuring effective coordination and communication of all patient activities and referrals.
  6. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Program Manager and clinical staff, including schedule support, requisitions, and requests for department operations.
Requirements
  1. Previous Office Coordination Experience: Previous experience in office coordination and/or healthcare.
  2. Front Office and Coding Experience: Preferred experience in front office and coding.
  3. Skills and Competencies: Excellent customer relations skills, ability to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, medical terminology, well-developed PC and word processing skills, and ability to work under pressure.
