Administrative Specialist

Job Summary:
The City of Peoria, IL is seeking an Administrative Specialist to provide administrative support to the Co-Response Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the unit, providing administrative support to the Director and staff, and ensuring the facility is appropriately secured when staff are not present.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Co-Response Unit, including coordinating calendars and managing the schedule of all staff within the unit.
- Provide administrative support to the Director and staff, including drafting meeting minutes, coordinating meeting agendas, and ensuring the facility is appropriately secured when staff are not present.
- Communicate with Co-Response staff via email, telephone, Microsoft Teams Chat, and Meetings.
- Perform other related administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
- One year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; over two years up to and including four years of progressively responsible related experience.
- Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Internal departmental policies and procedures.
- Computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job.
