About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our portfolio management capability, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth and optimization. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a deep understanding of our portfolio, including our pipeline, programs, and projects, and will use this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a vision for Revolution Medicines' portfolio management function, aligning with the company's overall business strategy.
  • Lead the build-out of the portfolio management capability, partnering with R&D Leadership, Commercial, Finance, and other functions to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our portfolio, including our pipeline, programs, and projects, and use this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Facilitate and project manage the Portfolio Working Group (PWG), ensuring effective and timely discussion and resolution of key portfolio decisions.
  • Drive the development and collation of R&D inputs for program and portfolio evaluations, ensuring consistency with financial and commercial inputs.
  • Closely partner with Program Teams and relevant functions to apply analytical tools and frameworks to clearly present options and solutions to optimize the portfolio.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the shape and drivers of the portfolio, assessing the impact of external developments on our portfolio.
  • Lead and manage other high-impact projects that arise outside of regular portfolio planning cycles, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with 5+ years' experience in portfolio management, portfolio planning, or a similar function.
  • Experience with clinical development stages and understanding of the external landscape and key players in the Oncology space.
  • Strong insight into strategic and commercial drivers of the pharmaceutical market, with a thorough understanding of the drug development and commercialization process.
  • Experience building out (sub)functions and implementing infrastructure and best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data to drive strategic decision-making and portfolio optimization.
  • Proven ability to think strategically with sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing skills, critical thinking, creativity, and ability to manage complexity and operate amidst ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive work relationships to effectively interface at all levels across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.A. or BSc. in Life Sciences with an MSc, MBA, or Ph.D.
  • Line management experience preferred, matrix management experience acceptable alternative.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $253,000 to $305,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

Please note that base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
