Job Overview

Your Role

As the Utilization Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the referral and intake processes for all residential services, while also managing data collection and reporting related to utilization management. Your key duties will include:

  • Promptly addressing all verbal and written inquiries concerning admissions to our residential services.
  • Evaluating all referrals for initial suitability.
  • Serving as the liaison between our staff and referring professionals regarding any inquiries about potential admissions or the necessity for further information or assessments.
  • Providing information about our services or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
  • Distributing relevant program descriptions and referral materials as requested.
  • Ensuring timely decision-making regarding admissions for all programs.
  • Gathering essential information about clients, including psychological evaluations, medical histories, and educational reports, and sharing this information with the assigned internal social worker or counselor.
  • Obtaining funding authorizations from potential financial sources for clients.
  • Securing necessary releases of information and consent for treatment from clients or their guardians.
  • Reviewing utilization metrics and internal referral data to confirm that clients receive appropriate and necessary services.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators for residential services, making them visible to program leaders, and providing recommendations to administrative and program staff.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in a behavioral healthcare environment is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in social work, nursing, or a related business field is preferred.
