Assists in maintaining operational efficiency by covering for team members during breaks and absences, ensuring the seamless functioning of plant activities.

Effectively operates all required machinery within the designated area.

Documents downtime, product loss, lot numbers, temperature readings, and other necessary reports.

Maintains cleanliness in all work areas to meet established standards.

Conducts weekly sanitation tasks.

Team Collaboration: Engages actively as a member of the team, contributing to the ongoing development, communication, and execution of team initiatives, programs, and policies; coordinates efforts to uphold B.E.S.T practices among all team members. Participates in relevant team meetings. As a team member, promotes strong collaboration on key matters such as direction, annual planning, budgeting, and policy modifications. Takes initiative to identify areas lacking cohesion, bringing them to the attention of the team leader, and collaborates with the team to resolve issues while seeking ways to enhance synergy within the broader organization.

Understanding of Simmons Operating Principles: Familiarizes oneself with Simmons' established operational protocols (e.g., quality assurance, safety, workplace environment, company policies); recognizes the importance of maintaining knowledge of these systems and the role of this position in supporting them, including the impact of individual actions on these systems and the responsibility to voice concerns and suggest improvements.

Additional Duties: This position description serves as a guide for the Utility Crew's activities and is not intended to restrict the creativity and problem-solving capabilities of the individual in this role, nor does it encompass all potential responsibilities associated with this position.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, noisy, and dusty environment with temperature variations, standing for the entire shift, and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, ear protection, hair net.

Travel Requirements: Not applicable.

Technical Qualifications: Not applicable.

Industry Experience: May need to obtain and maintain a company-issued forklift certification.

Minimum Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills are essential. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
