Qualifications:

Educational Background:
B.S/B.A/M.S/Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology.

Experience Requirements:
  • B.S/B.A with a minimum of 7+ years; Masters with 5+ years; Ph.D. with 3-4 years of relevant experience in industry or academia.

Essential Laboratory Skills:
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
  • Familiarity with RNA/DNA quality control platforms such as the Fragment Analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer, or Tapestation.
  • Competence in RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
  • Understanding of NGS platforms, particularly Illumina MiSeq and Novaseq.
  • Knowledge of NGS data quality control and analysis workflows.
  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot new protocols related to NGS platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort in a collaborative team setting.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with liquid handling automation for RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
  • Familiarity with multi-omics NGS platforms, low sorted cell populations, and/or single-cell RNA sequencing.

Software Proficiency:
  • Experience with NGS analysis data visualization tools such as Cell Ranger or BioTuring.
  • Knowledge of software applications: Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, GraphPad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, Geneious.
