Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Programmer II to join our team at the Andersen Lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing data processing pipelines for genomic and epidemiological data, as well as building a real-time surveillance platform for viral outbreaks. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects using computational genomics approaches and high-throughput experiments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop data processing pipelines for genomic and epidemiological data
  • Build a real-time surveillance platform for viral outbreaks
  • Collaborate with researchers to design and implement computational genomics approaches
  • Contribute to the development of bioinformatic methods and tools
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computational biology, computer science, or related field
  • Minimum of two years' experience with programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript
  • Advanced degree in a field directly related to the science developed/performed may be accepted in lieu of some experience
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of database systems such as ElasticSearch, SQLite, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with applying and/or developing bioinformatic methods
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $66,560 to $78,000, commensurate with experience
