POSITION SUMMARY:

The Family Engagement Facilitator plays a crucial role in the HIPPY Program by working closely with families to enhance their educational experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, recruit, and support a suitable caseload of families participating in the HIPPY Program.
  • Conduct weekly home visits with assigned parents to demonstrate the HIPPY curriculum and provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Participate in mandatory weekly training sessions focused on the HIPPY curriculum.
  • Assist in organizing, conducting, and facilitating parent group meetings at designated campuses, and engage in all regular HIPPY activities, including field trips and celebrations.
  • Refer families in need of additional resources or assistance to the HIPPY Coordinator for evaluation and necessary social services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date family files at all times.
  • Input data into the required database to meet compliance standards set by the District, funders, and HIPPY USA.
  • Submit all necessary reports and documentation promptly.
  • Engage in professional development activities as required by the District, HIPPY USA, and AmeriCorps for personal and professional growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the HIPPY Specialist, Program Director, or Early Childhood Executive Director.
  • Adhere to time and effort reporting requirements as mandated for federally funded positions.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is essential for this role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. Regular travel throughout the district is an integral part of this position. Remote work options are not available for campus-based roles, as consistent attendance and performance of duties on-site are critical.

A security check and disclosure of family relationship information are required for all positions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of an academic assessment.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a HIPPY part-time Home Instructor.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the community served by the program, including available resources.
  • General understanding of child development and behavioral characteristics.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Ability to connect positively with students and parents.
  • Must possess reliable transportation for home visits.
  • Preferred: Current or former parent in the program.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in the field.
