SUMMARY:
The Sales Counter Representative plays a crucial role in the store's operations. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of store functions and a strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to achieve success while delivering exceptional customer service. The personal drive to contribute to the business's growth in a profitable and ethical manner is essential for success in this role. Achieving success will involve consistently executing all job-related company objectives, policies, and procedures in alignment with Fisher's core values of providing "The best quality at very competitive prices." NOTE:
Due to the sensitive nature of the information associated with this position, the Sales Counter Representative must maintain the highest standards of professionalism regarding ethics, confidentiality, and information security. This position reports to the Store Manager for the assigned location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Counter Representative is responsible for various aspects of the store's daily operations, including:
  • Effectively managing daily business operations to ensure all job-related objectives are met and aligned with the company's core values;
  • Meeting sales targets to ensure the store achieves or exceeds budgeted goals;
  • Fostering an atmosphere of safety and respect for both associates and customers at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES, AND ABILITIES:
  • Maintaining personal safety standards throughout the store;
  • Upholding the highest standards of customer service, including prompt handling of all customer orders;
  • Maintaining store appearance and merchandising as assigned;
  • Exhibiting excellent telephone communication and etiquette skills;
  • Demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment;
  • Communicating effectively with peers, both verbally and in writing;
  • Possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse workforce;
  • Following established performance standards for the counterperson role;
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient use of all available resources;
  • Building strong relationships with associates, customers, and support staff;
  • Being accountable for achieving both personal and store results;
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and creating positive customer experiences;
  • Fostering customer loyalty;
  • Utilizing available tools for marketing, training, and customer technology programs to enhance sales and market share;
  • Familiarity with computerized systems and applications, including electronic parts catalogs and inventory control;
  • Providing high levels of customer service;
  • Possessing a working knowledge of automotive systems;
  • Learning to mix paint and perform various shop functions as required;
  • Conducting physical inventories and line counts;
  • Stocking shelves and fulfilling customer orders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained and maintained;
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test;
  • ASE Certification preferred, but not required at the time of hire;
  • Acknowledgment of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver's Handbooks.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that accommodates a variety of days, evenings, and/or weekends as needed to provide quality service while contributing to the business's growth with profitability and integrity.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by a Sales Counter Representative to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Sales Counter Representative is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The Sales Counter Representative may also be required to operate a motor vehicle. Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds is required, with occasional lifting of heavier weights with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those encountered while performing essential functions. The Sales Counter Representative may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and varying degrees of temperature. The noise level in the store work environment is usually moderate to light.
