Position Overview:

The Senior Commercial Banking Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining robust banking relationships with businesses typically generating gross sales under $25 million. This position is accountable for the overall performance and expansion of the designated sales territory, acting as the primary liaison between the bank and its clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or surpass individual sales and retention targets while adhering to corporate and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proactively enhance existing client relationships and pursue new business opportunities through referrals and outreach efforts.
  • Craft proposals and devise advanced sales strategies to meet the bank's objectives.
  • Establish, nurture, and sustain a network of referral sources.
  • Document the relationship management process thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Serve as the client's advocate in securing appropriate credit and promoting additional products and services.
  • Structure and finalize both secured and unsecured business loans.
  • Assess various risks including business, management, industry, and financial aspects, and document findings in credit approval submissions.
  • Lead complex sales initiatives, including the creation of tailored proposals.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the bank's product offerings.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
  • Participate actively in community organizations and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Commercial Banking.
  • Strong understanding and experience in credit and lending.
  • Proven ability to meet sales objectives and independently drive banking sales and credit support while maximizing cross-sell opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial banking products, including credit analysis and treasury management.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills, results-driven, and able to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Formal credit training is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
