Job Summary

This Senior Accountant role is responsible for preparing financial statements and reconciling financial accounts for a custom-built portfolio of real estate assets. The successful candidate will work closely with accounting leadership, owners, and our commercial real estate managers, as well as our lease administration advisory team and fellow accountants within our client services accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts, providing monthly account analysis and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries for client properties and collaborate with the Property Management Team for final monthly/quarterly reporting.
  • Monitor tenant billing and cash receipts, and provide assistance with annual budgeting and forecasting, including review of final budgets.
  • Enforce GAAP accounting principles and company policies, ensuring compliance with internal control efforts.
  • Assist in areas when needed, including charge batch posting, receipt posting, audit inquiries, SOC testing, and training and developing accounting staff to strengthen skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Previous real estate accounting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial statements and various types of internal management reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, as well as general ledger applications and specific real estate-related programs, such as Yardi and MRI.
  • Superior customer service skills and orientation, with a collaborative style and ability to maintain professionalism under stressful situations.
