Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily general ledger accounting activities, including the preparation and review of reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the controller to manage the monthly financial closing cycle and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Maintain a documented framework of accounting policies and procedures, assisting in the implementation of controls to reduce risk.
  • Support the controller with external audit requirements.
  • Assist in the execution of accounting policy updates in line with GAAP.
  • Contribute to tax accounting processes.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to address business challenges that affect accounting practices.
  • Play a role in developing and executing robust controls aimed at minimizing risk and improving the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5-8 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
  • Preferred: 2+ years in public accounting.
  • Experience in insurance accounting is a plus.
  • CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in various accounting software platforms.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent analytical abilities with a keen understanding of variances in financial results.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, attention to detail, and proactive approach.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proven leadership skills with a passion for team development and organization.
