About the Position:

The Lead Financial Strategist is tasked with the oversight and evaluation of financial operations within the organization. Key responsibilities include coordinating with primary finance and operational stakeholders to deliver comprehensive reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This role will also emphasize collaboration with sales, customer service, operations, and marketing teams to ensure a clear understanding of business dynamics. The Lead Financial Strategist plays a vital role in enhancing visibility into business trends and financial performance. Utilizing advanced Excel skills, alongside data from our financial systems and business intelligence tools, this position will also assist in the formulation of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, profitability analysis, and various ad-hoc projects. The role reports directly to senior leadership in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compile essential Sales, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) schedules for effective communication across the organization. Analyze and report on trends and challenges impacting the business to provide financial insights and guidance to management at all levels.
  • Support the Senior Director in liaising with key business stakeholders, including the collection and dissemination of critical data. Maintain a strong understanding of the organization and be readily available to provide support.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to manage departmental accruals and track internal orders.
  • Design and produce visual data representations using business intelligence tools, including charts and infographics; enhance and maintain existing dashboards.
  • Engage with departmental Business Partners to refine and clarify business insights and analyses for distribution. Prioritize visibility of allowances.
  • Work alongside the IT Infrastructure team to configure back-end systems and organize data to provide insights into customer behavior, financial trends, and overall business operations through the development of business intelligence visuals.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in financial forecasting, analysis, and consolidation reporting, with a strong grasp of accounting principles and experience in accruals, general ledger, and cost center data analysis (or 4+ years with an MBA).
  • 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel, business intelligence tools, and data visualization software.
  • Strong collaborative approach with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, particularly for audiences who may not have a finance background.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strategic thinker with tactical execution skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/Financial systems and Financial Statement Analysis; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is preferred.
  • Experience in the retail or fashion industry with a solid understanding of wholesale business practices is advantageous.
