About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship to lead our commitment to sustainable practices and shape the future of our products and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and drive the company's sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term environmental goals.
  • Establish and execute comprehensive sustainability programs and initiatives across Anomatic manufacturing plants in the US and China.
  • Propose and implement strategies to address environmental concerns, including energy use, conservation, pollution reduction, recycling, and building design.
  • Define and communicate the purpose of sustainable transformation, fostering internal cultural change.
  • Assess and analyze company policies and processes to identify areas for improvement in accordance with sustainability commitments.
  • Oversee Anomatic Product Safety programs and reporting, including REACH, FDA, Proposition 65, CONEG, RCRA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with manufacturing, procurement, and product development teams to integrate sustainable practices into product design and production.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to report on or promote sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop, track, and hold the organization accountable to metrics and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness of sustainability/CSR/ESG initiatives.
  • Communicate sustainability goals and achievements to internal and external audiences through reporting, presentations, and other media.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, Biological or Environmental Science/Engineering, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Material Science, or related field.
  • Five or more years of demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing sustainability programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in consumer product sustainability program management, particularly in the cosmetics, personal care, food packaging, household consumer product packaging, and consumer electronics industries.
  • Thorough and current knowledge of sustainability practices and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Professional certifications in sustainability, project management, and ISO management.
  • Strong materials and manufacturing knowledge, as well as knowledge of ISO accredited management systems.
  • Ability to travel internationally, particularly between Europe, China, and the United States.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to the business.
  • Superior organization skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate.
  • Positive attitude and teamwork among all internal and external customers.
