Pet Retail Assistant Manager

Reports to the Store Manager.

This role is not your typical pet retail position; each day presents unique challenges and experiences. However,

on a typical day, you will:
  • Provide affection and treats to our four-legged customers (this is a must).
  • Engage with your local community: learn their names, understand their needs, and more.
  • Stay informed about new products and advancements in pet nutrition.
  • Receive, organize, and rotate healthy pet products.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet sales objectives and milestones.
  • Prioritize the well-being of our guests and their pets.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Fostering an environment of service, trust, and support that aligns with the owners' vision for the company.
  • Creating a positive and encouraging store atmosphere where employees look forward to coming to work.
  • Ensuring that customer service and satisfaction consistently exceed expectations.
  • Supporting the Store Manager with daily operations in line with company standards.
  • Maintaining effective communication with staff and the home office.
  • Assisting the Store Manager in keeping accurate inventory records.
  • Helping the Store Manager with on-the-job training for staff in customer service, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
  • Upholding store appearance and maintaining a professional personal image.
  • Executing product merchandising as directed by the Merchandising Manager.

Time Commitment
Tomlinson's operates Monday through Sunday, and Assistant Managers should be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Physical Requirements
This position requires standing for the majority of the shift and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly to stock the store and assist customers.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 6 months to 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
