Customer Service Assistant Department Leader

Job Summary

Create an exceptional customer experience through outstanding service and a safe, clean environment. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, and maintain quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise Front-end department functions, duties, and activities. Support day-to-day operations and execute best practices, goals, and Front-end standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and providing product information.
  • Gain and maintain product knowledge, responding to customer inquiries and making suggestions.
  • Monitor and control supply expenses, managing cash control, sales, and records.
  • Manage Front-end associate scheduling for adequate department coverage.
  • Assist store management in preparing budgets, profit and loss reviews, and taking action on financial reports.
  • Develop and implement department action plans to achieve desired results.
  • Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork.
  • Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and temperature logs.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of issues.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or issues.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Requirements
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Retail or Customer Service experience.
  • Desired: High school diploma or equivalent, management experience, and second language skills.
