Position Overview:
The HR Compliance Specialist, Lead is responsible for ensuring adherence to the organization's human resource policies and practices. This role involves guaranteeing compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, alongside internal standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and support management and staff on various compliance-related issues, including Affirmative Action, recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.
- Provide expert direction and support to business units regarding compliance requirements, employing advanced principles and concepts while aiding in the development of new methodologies.
- Collaborate across internal teams as a trusted advisor to enhance process efficiency and develop solutions for intricate compliance challenges.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle for compliance-related initiatives, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders to establish project scope, objectives, deliverables, and expectations, ensuring effective communication of project status, challenges, and risks to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a compliance role within a government contracting environment.
- Proven track record in leading compliance initiatives related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
- Experience overseeing the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) process.
- Expertise in implementing procedures to ensure compliance with various legal requirements.
- Ability to conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and formulate mitigation strategies.
- Experience in federal and state reporting, including VETS 4212, EEO-1, and Pay Data reporting for California and Illinois.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Capacity to monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Strong collaborative skills to work with legal, operations, contracts, finance, and senior leadership teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience (12+ years) in a compliance function within a government contracting organization.
Additional Skills:
- Experience executing internal audits and managing risk identification and resolution.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and perform legal, regulatory, policy, and organizational analyses.
- Proficient in interpreting legal documents and communicating requirements to stakeholders in business terms.
- Strong independent and collaborative work skills within a matrix team environment.
- Active certification as a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or equivalent HR certification.
