Position Overview
Dow is looking for a Senior Metallurgist to enhance our operations at our manufacturing facility. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for plant assets, personnel, and the achievement of business objectives.

You will provide essential leadership to maintenance teams and act as a liaison to support various maintenance functions as needed. Your internal clients will include engineering services, construction projects, production facilities, maintenance, and utility operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead improvement initiatives in metallurgical and corrosion sectors.
- Conduct failure analysis, materials selection, and corrosion control at large petrochemical facilities.
- Ensure that materials-related inspections and repairs adhere to specifications and Dow practices.
- Perform on-site inspections to guarantee equipment integrity.
- Collaborate with inspectors and maintenance engineers to troubleshoot and repair vessels, tanks, and piping, maximizing safety and reliability.
- Provide technical support during plant turnarounds and shutdowns, including technical reviews and field assessments.
- Mentor and train inspection and engineering teams in materials engineering.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Most Effective Technology (MET) documents.
- Engage in Technical Solutions Teams (TST) to leverage best practices.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) initiatives, particularly in field operations.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Ability to work safely at elevated heights, with familiarity or willingness to train in safety equipment usage.

Preferred Skills
- Expertise in materials engineering, corrosion engineering, or metallurgical engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience leading team meetings and collaborating with project teams, vendors, and inspectors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, thriving in a collaborative environment.
- Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail for maintaining documentation.
