The key to success in this position involves effective communication with our Clients, our local management team, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall operations and profitability of the CMT department.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other pertinent documents to assist our Clients and internal management specific to each project.
  • Manage all CMT projects within the South Texas region, including development and review of field and laboratory reports.
  • Develop written proposals with budgets or unit rates for new opportunities.
  • Provide supervision and oversight to all field and laboratory employees through regular communications.
  • Oversee quality control program and facilitate Technician training and certification.
  • Communicate and share resources with other departments or offices to assist the growth of Tolunay-Wong Engineers as a whole.
  • Approve the employment and termination of employment of all employees.
  • Correspond with the Branch Manager regarding the operations and any needs that may be required for your operations.
  • Manage recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retainage of employees.
  • Developing career paths for employees in your department.
  • Develop new business lines and new Clients as the economy changes and make adjustments for new technologies that are available to our industry.
  • Assistance with the provision of a safe work environment for all Tolunay-Wong Engineers employees.
  • Assist with business development, department administration, dispatch, collections, and other requests as needed by the individual employees.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of construction materials, engineering, management, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant construction or engineering field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Certifications preferred (ACI, NICET, ICC, DOT, etc.).
  • Enhanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and testing software platforms.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Profit/loss and basic accounting experience preferred.
  • Business development, marketing, and Client management experience preferred.
  • Prior personnel management, hiring, and training experience required.
