Senior Public Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Health Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, with a focus on border health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of community-based healthy border and binational initiatives, including the planning and development of annual work plans, goals, and objectives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community residents, local, county, state, and federal governments, as well as binational agencies, non-profit organizations, and universities.
- Coordinate and assist in the implementation of binational activities and communication, such as the binational health councils and binational health week.
- Conduct training needs assessments and environmental scans to identify gaps in training and provide technical assistance where needed.
- Prepare and distribute program reports of activities, initiatives, and performance measures.
- Bilingual/Biliterate (English/Spanish) required.
- Knowledge of US-Mexico border relationships and dynamics, cultural practices on the US-Mexico border, current social, economic, and public health issues, facilitation methods, educational techniques and procedures, presentation techniques, Mexican public health systems and programs, departmental program policies and procedures, relevant laws, and pertinent techniques of management, evaluation, and program monitoring.
- Ability to interpret and follow regulations, procedures, policies, and proper protocols of local, state, and federal health departments/entities.
- Ability to work effectively and productively with other professionals and individuals on both sides of the US/Mexico border.
