Job Summary: The CNC Machine Programmer is responsible for developing detailed Numerical Control Programs for CNC machinery. This role involves designing manufacturing sequences and updating programs to accommodate engineering modifications or enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop programs for EIA machines, also known as EIA/ISO machine programming or G-code.
  2. Maintain organized documentation with relevant part information.
  3. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to establish effective work-holding techniques.
  4. Edit programs directly on the manufacturing floor using machine-specific programming methods.
  5. Prepare and process drawings to support product manufacturing.
  6. Manage program and drawing revisions to ensure accuracy.
  7. Create overlays for part inspection.
  8. Maintain open lines of communication with production staff to guarantee precise programming information.
  9. Adhere to the company’s Quality Policy and comply with all relevant Quality Work Instructions and Procedures.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Catia V5.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification; vocational training is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of N/C Programming experience, alongside relevant machine shop experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
  • Experience in CNC machining and knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to program, set up, and operate jobs independently, including fixturing and troubleshooting setups.
  • Advanced skills in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong capability in blueprint reading and understanding GD&T interpretation.
  • In-depth knowledge of G and M codes, with the ability to edit programs as necessary.
  • Competence in performing mid-level mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications.
