Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Programming Specialist is responsible for developing precise numerical control programs for CNC machinery. This role involves designing manufacturing processes and updating existing programs to align with engineering modifications or to enhance operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and optimize programs for EIA machines.
  • Maintain systematic records containing relevant part specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to establish effective work-holding techniques.
  • Modify programs directly on the production floor utilizing machine-specific programming approaches.
  • Prepare and process technical drawings to support product manufacturing.
  • Manage program and drawing revisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop overlays for part inspection purposes.
  • Foster open communication with production staff to guarantee precise programming data is shared.
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Policy and comply with all relevant Quality Work Instructions and Procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in N/C programming along with relevant machine shop experience. CAD/CAM software proficiency is advantageous.
  • Preferred background in CNC machining.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in the aerospace sector.
  • Capability to independently program, set up, and operate jobs, including fixturing and troubleshooting setups.
  • Advanced skills in utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and a solid grasp of GD&T interpretation and application.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of G and M codes, with the ability to edit programs as necessary both on and off the machine.
  • Competence in performing mid-level mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma, equivalent certification, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required.
  • Two-year vocational training is preferred.
