Our strategic plan, Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness, is supported by a significant investment of $5 billion in new capital funding, contributing to a total of $22 billion over ten years, the largest investment in the city's history.

Your Team:

The Office of Development is responsible for executing the Mayor's Housing Plan, which aims to create or preserve 300,000 units of affordable housing by 2026. This office collaborates closely with various city and state agencies.

Your Role:

As an Intake Specialist within the Tax Incentive Programs unit, you will manage the initial application submissions and communications with applicants. This role requires coordination with analysts and senior staff to ensure a smooth application process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure timely receipt and accurate recording of applications by maintaining databases and electronic filing systems.
  2. Manage external communications and ensure proper documentation is filed electronically.
  3. Conduct research to validate application information using public and internal databases.
  4. Track received documentation and generate necessary correspondence.
  5. Identify eligibility issues and troubleshoot application problems.
  6. Maintain the integrity of electronic data and respond promptly to inquiries from applicants and the public.
  7. Possess a thorough understanding of program policies to assist applicants effectively.
  8. Support senior staff with special projects as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of relevant experience, or
  • A high school diploma and six years of relevant experience, or
  • Equivalent education and/or experience.

Essential skills include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
