Clinical Instructor for Nursing Program

North-West College is actively seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses to fulfill part-time teaching roles for live clinical rotations. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with students in established healthcare settings.
Instructor Availability:
We require instructors for two consecutive days each week, with shifts available from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for student supervision within the clinical environment.
- Deliver assigned coursework, including both theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical training.
- Design and implement instructional strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Communicate daily clinical objectives with students during pre-conference sessions.
- Collaborate with clinical facility staff to clarify student placements and expectations.
- Assign patient and student tasks that align with clinical goals and patient care needs.
- Guide students in data collection and integration into their clinical documentation, promoting critical thinking through the nursing process.
- Coordinate daily plans with clinical sites to effectively observe, instruct, and assess student performance.
- Facilitate post-conference discussions to connect theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, allowing students to share insights and experiences.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on a weekly basis, establishing clear objectives for improvement.
- Offer immediate evaluations of clinical skills following observations.
- Current active license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in California.
- Ability to fulfill teaching responsibilities in classroom, clinical, and laboratory settings.
- Proficiency in essential clinical skills relevant to the teaching areas.
- Familiarity with personal computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse with an Associate's degree and six years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in any field.
