Clinical Laboratory Scientist Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist Instructor to plan, develop, and conduct training on the principles of medical laboratory science.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for medical laboratory science students, focusing on biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, or transfusion medicine.
- Coordinate the scheduling and provision of practical bench training for licensed trainees, working closely with supervisory laboratory scientists to resolve training problems and suggest alternative methodologies.
- Identify and analyze training needs and problems, making recommendations for improvement and implementing evaluative tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
- Collaborate with supervising clinical laboratory scientists to develop test items to evaluate trainee achievement and provide guidance to students on action they may need to take to resolve learning difficulties or other problems.
- Participate in defining educational goals, objectives, and standards for student programs, in-service education, and ongoing education.
- Maintain a library of audio-visual aids and other training materials for reference by supervising clinical laboratory scientists and others engaged in the training process.
- Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new students for a school of medical laboratory science, maintaining correspondence with affiliated educational institutions prior to acceptance or rejection for enrollment and records of student progress after enrollment.
- Two years of experience at the level of Clinical Laboratory Scientist II or higher in an approved laboratory.
- A Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) license issued by the State of California Department of Public Health.
- Additional years of experience at the level of Clinical Laboratory Scientist II or higher in an approved laboratory.
- Experience planning and instructing the clinical laboratory practice of an assigned group of CLS students or licensed trainees in a laboratory or academic setting.
- One or more of the following specialist certifications issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP): Blood bank, Chemistry, Cytology, Cytometry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology.
