Job Summary:

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Instructor to join our team in supporting the Early Learning Readiness program. As a Program Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating positive relationships with children, parents, and caregivers, while building cooperative relationships with staff and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the Early Learning Readiness program up to three days per week, plus one additional day for program preparation and professional development.
  • Lead a two-hour ELR class for children, parents, and caregivers, twice a week.
  • Assist with/co-lead a two-hour ELR workshop for parents and caregivers, once a week.
Program Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, supplies, and equipment to execute the classes.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality programming to meet the needs of children and families.
Collaboration and Outreach:
  • Collaborate with the Family Resource Director to identify community partnerships for families and assist with outreach opportunities and efforts to recruit families.
  • Assist with administering developmental screenings and program evaluations to measure and report on the impact and quality of the program.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years-old or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35lbs of equipment.
  • Units in child development, early childhood education, family and consumer studies, human services, social work, health/nutrition, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Hourly Salary:

$18.00-$19.00 per hour.
