The Head of Employee Engagement Communications plays a pivotal role in conveying our corporate narrative to employees through various channels, enhancing their sense of pride in being part of Bristol Myers Squibb. This position also focuses on communication strategies for integration and onboarding during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring a seamless transition for new team members.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Internal Communications and Employee Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on key global initiatives to formulate and implement strategic communication plans.
  • Create communications that prepare the organization for internal and external changes, including drafting talking points and supporting company-wide events.
  • Contribute to the editorial calendar, actively seeking opportunities to enhance employee understanding of our corporate strategy and create a unified experience focused on our commitment to patients.
  • Introduce innovative internal communication methods to effectively engage employees regarding our business strategy and cultural initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure adherence to communication guidelines while integrating relevant cultural messaging and patient narratives.
  • Actively identify opportunities for organizational leaders to share their experiences and further promote the company narrative. Develop and manage social media strategies for HR leaders to maximize their impact.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive communication strategy and change management plan throughout the stages of mergers and acquisitions to ensure a positive experience for new colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience with a focus on organizational transformation, ideally with a blend of pharmaceutical, in-house, and agency experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing communications during mergers and acquisitions, with a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements at each phase.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing communication strategies that align with business objectives, including stakeholder engagement and content creation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the employee experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in communications or a related field; a Master's degree and/or change management certification is a plus.
