Director of Communications & Change Management

This position is situated within the Business Insights & Analytics (BIA) department and reports directly to the Vice President of BIA Strategy & Operations.

The individual in this role will be responsible for crafting and implementing strategic internal (and occasionally external) communication initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and managing change within the BIA organization.

Success in this position requires an experienced communications professional who exhibits sound business acumen and can collaborate effectively with mid- and senior-level leaders to develop and execute impactful communications.

To excel, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to think strategically while executing tactically.

The ideal candidate will also work collaboratively and adaptively to best support the business.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the creation and implementation of leadership communications and employee engagement strategies for BIA, collaborating closely with department leaders and cross-functional teams.

Develop communications to support significant initiatives, including but not limited to strategic evolution, Inclusion & Diversity efforts, talent retention and acquisition, organizational restructuring, and content for specific events such as town halls, leadership roundtables, employee summits, and talent campaigns.

This role will also oversee content creation and project management for key internal leadership events, forums, and training sessions.


Provide change management leadership and facilitate employee engagement and adaptation to change to achieve essential business objectives and outcomes.

Engage with functional leadership and employees across various sites to develop and implement strategies that foster our desired organizational culture.

Craft executive communications for functional leaders and establish key communication roadmaps that utilize relevant channels and platforms such as events, newsletters, SharePoint or Teams sites, and internal communication tools.

Develop and disseminate consistent communications for department-wide messaging to reinforce understanding, context, and expected outcomes of BIA strategic initiatives and events.

Build strong relationships with individuals throughout the BIA network and with adjacent business or enabling functions.


Provide guidance and communication support for key strategic projects that may impact the department.

All other projects and tasks as assigned.

This role does not have direct reports but will require leadership and influence within cross-functional teams to create and implement communication programs and initiatives.

The Director of Communications and Change Management should operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization, driving strategic communication initiatives aligned with broader company objectives to deliver high-value outcomes.

The successful candidate should exhibit creativity, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to quickly grasp the business and navigate within a complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

Strategic, conceptual thinking and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Qualifications

7-10 years of impactful communications experience is required, either in an in-house corporate/internal communications team or at an agency.

Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

A robust understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the business dynamics that influence strategic priorities.

Ability to translate strategic priorities into effective communication, engagement, and change management strategies.

Strong initiative, capability to develop recommendations, secure alignment, and execute with speed and excellence.

Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively within BIA, across the enterprise, and with external partners.

Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and motivating communications swiftly, and the expertise to craft messages and strategies for maximum impact.

Strong project management skills and the ability to successfully navigate a matrix organization, lead cross-functional teams, and manage multiple complex projects and priorities effectively, with minimal supervision.


Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and internal communication platforms.
