Your Role and Impact
As a Field Process Engineer at Lam, you will be a key technical resource for our customers, driving innovation to fulfill their requirements.

You will be tasked with conducting process evaluations, supporting hardware modifications, and documenting process outcomes. Your contributions will be crucial in assisting customers with installations, training, and identifying enhancements in collaboration with product teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert process support and installation services, improving productivity and developing new applications for Lam equipment at client sites.
- Act as primary field support for Beta sites, evaluations, and initial installations.
- Design and execute experiments, gather data, analyze findings, generate reports, and offer recommendations to optimize device architecture and process modules.

- Collaborate with clients to meet new technology process requirements, support existing processes, and address deviations through thorough root cause analysis.
- Develop new or modified processes, establish best-known method recipes, and work alongside hardware engineering to define chamber specifications and characterize designs to meet performance expectations.

- Engage with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges. Represent Lam to our esteemed customers, ensuring exceptional satisfaction.

- Present technical and marketing information effectively, maintaining a focus on mutual benefits to keep clients informed about our products and services.

- Interface directly with customer management, leading regular and ad hoc meetings.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Field Service Engineers, Technicians, subcontractors, and clients regarding installations, repairs, and operations, while coordinating the application of new procedures.

- Collaborate with Field Service Engineers on complex issues affecting process output. Oversee statistical analysis of failure rates and develop continuous improvement plans (CIP). Recommend design modifications to key technical solutions and monitor performance trends. Recognized for possessing significant technical expertise in systems and applications.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience.
- Proficient in addressing complex issues requiring detailed analysis of variable factors. Sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and evaluation criteria for challenging engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent customer relationship management abilities. Capability to work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to safety protocols.

Preferred:
- Comprehensive understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, adapting to shifting priorities and meeting business needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with diverse teams, clients, and partners.
