The Customer Support Business Group is dedicated to providing exceptional support to our clients throughout their journey with Lam. We enhance performance, productivity, safety, and quality of the installed base while delivering lifecycle solutions for critical equipment and processes.

Your Contribution

As a Field Process Engineer at Lam, you will be a key resource for our customers, ensuring their needs are met through expert knowledge of our equipment. Your responsibilities will include conducting process evaluations, supporting installations, and documenting modifications and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver process support and installation services, enhance productivity, and develop new applications of Lam equipment at client sites.
  • Act as primary field support for Beta sites and initial installations.
  • Design and execute experiments, gather data, analyze results, and provide insights to optimize device architecture and process modules.
  • Collaborate with clients to fulfill requirements for new technology processes and address deviations through thorough analysis.
  • Create new or refined processes, establish best practice recipes, and work with hardware engineering to define chamber specifications that meet customer performance goals.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, and business challenges.
  • Represent Lam with professionalism and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate technical and marketing information effectively to keep clients informed about our products and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and clients regarding installations and operations.
  • Work with Field Service Engineers to resolve complex issues affecting process output.
  • Oversee statistical analysis of failure rates and develop continuous improvement plans.
  • Recommend design modifications and monitor performance trends.
Qualifications We Seek

Essential Qualifications:
  • PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer relationships.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
  • A collaborative approach in a matrixed environment.
