Your Role and Contribution

As a Field Process Engineer at Lam, you will be a key resource for our customers, leveraging your expertise to meet their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include conducting process evaluations, documenting outcomes for hardware enhancements, and supporting installations and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver process support and installation services, enhancing productivity and developing innovative applications of Lam equipment at client locations.
  • Act as a primary field resource for Beta sites and initial installations.
  • Design and execute experiments, gather data, analyze findings, and generate reports to optimize device architecture and process modules.
  • Collaborate with clients to fulfill requirements for new technology processes and address any deviations through thorough analysis.
  • Develop new or refined processes, establish best practices, and work alongside hardware engineering to define chamber specifications and evaluate hardware designs.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and clients to comprehend their needs, technology strategies, process flows, and business challenges.
  • Represent Lam to our esteemed clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Present technical and marketing information with a collaborative approach to keep clients informed about relevant products and services.
  • Maintain direct communication with client management, leading regular and on-demand meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Field Service Engineers, Technicians, subcontractors, and clients regarding installations and operations.
  • Work with Field Service Engineers to resolve complex issues affecting process outcomes.
  • Coordinate statistical analysis of failure rates and develop plans for continuous improvement.
  • Advise on design modifications for key technical solutions and process development while monitoring performance trends.
  • Recognized for significant technical expertise within Lam in systems and applications.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience.
  • Proficient in addressing complex issues requiring in-depth analysis of various factors.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and evaluation criteria for challenging engineering problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong customer relationship management abilities.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams and clients.
  • Collaborative mindset within a matrixed environment.
