Business Development Specialist - Intellectual Property Focus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the formulation and execution of business development and marketing strategies.
  • Market Research: Acquire comprehensive insights into the practice's market standing and relevant industries.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals, presentations, and client correspondence.
  • Campaign Development: Design content-driven campaigns aimed at generating new business prospects.
  • Cross-Selling Strategies: Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Client Engagement: Facilitate key client initiatives and enhance premium service offerings.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and manage marketing events and activities.
  • Financial Oversight: Support the management of associated budgets.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Partner with PR, communications, and marketing teams on various initiatives.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel as necessary to support business activities.
  • Project Management: Lead relevant projects within the department.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Industry Acumen: Familiarity with marketing in legal and professional services.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess data and identify market trends.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Operational Knowledge: Understanding of law firm operations.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Grasp of marketing principles and practices.
  • Networking Skills: Proficiency in relationship management and networking.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in team building and management.
  • Legal Insight: Basic understanding of legal concepts.
  • Project Coordination: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (required); experience in a law firm is preferred.
  • Experience supporting an Intellectual Property Practice Group is preferred.
