OnYourMark Education is a pioneering virtual tutoring service dedicated to providing high-dosage, individualized early literacy instruction to K-5th graders. Our mission is to ensure that students develop foundational reading skills, grounded in the science of reading, to excel in their academic journey.

Job Overview

As an Early Literacy Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in becoming lifelong readers. You will work with students in a virtual setting, providing one-on-one or small group instruction, and helping them develop essential reading skills. Our tutors learn how to teach an explicit phonics curriculum, which is a key component of our program.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in paid virtual pre-service training to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices and research-based methods.
  • Manage a caseload of students, building strong relationships, tracking progress, and preparing lesson materials.
  • Support students in their prescribed learning sequence, ensuring they meet their reading goals.
  • Track student reading skill progress over the course of tutoring sessions.
  • Participate in ongoing coaching sessions to refine your tutoring skills and stay aligned with our program's goals.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reside within the contiguous U.S., Hawaii, or Alaska and be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Pass an online comprehensive background check and, if applicable, complete fingerprinting requirements.
  • Have a computer with a Chrome browser and a working microphone/video, with a stable internet connection.

Compensation and Benefits

Early Literacy Tutors are compensated for completing pre-service training and for each tutoring session, professional development session, and coaching session. Tutors also have the opportunity to substitute for additional one-off sessions as available for additional compensation.
