Position: Art Program Leader – Museum Education

Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services – Museum of Art and History

Hourly Compensation: $20.99

Role Summary:

Under general supervision, the Art Program Leader will support various initiatives related to the planning and execution of educational programs and services at the City of Lancaster's Museum of Art and History, including the MOAH: CEDAR and the Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center.

Supervisory Duties:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development, organization, and delivery of educational programs at the museum, such as Young Artist Workshops, Arts for Youth Tours, Discover Trunks, and Sensory Friendly Programs.
  • Leading regular exhibition tours and conducting specialized workshops.
  • Coordinating and staffing community outreach events throughout the region.
  • Creating educational materials, including tour scripts, project proposals, and resources for the website.
  • Collaborating with community stakeholders, including educators and local leaders, to implement educational initiatives.
  • Setting up and dismantling special events.
  • Performing related duties as necessary.
Required Skills:

  • Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public.
  • Proficient in interpreting and executing a variety of instructions provided in different formats.

  • Ability to assist in organizing and executing cultural activities.

Education and Experience:
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for effective job performance.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Arts or a related field is desirable.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
