Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Benefits Coordinator to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care and support in navigating the complex world of insurance benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insurance Benefits Coordination: Meet with patients to educate them on available insurance options, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. Ensure patients have followed through with the application process and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Medicare and Medicaid Management: Determine Medicare eligibility, discuss Medicare applications with eligible patients, and assist with the application process. Act as a liaison between patients and local agents for Medicare terminations and reinstatements.
  • Indigent Program Management: Work with patients to evaluate personal financial information and make determinations for indigent programs. Complete initial and annual indigent waiver applications.
  • Insurance Information Management: Monitor and update patients' insurance information to ensure accuracy and completeness for the Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly reports to track work progress on caseloads and identify any discrepancies or anomalies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field
  • 2-5 years of related experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with experience in Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid systems
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with a strong customer service philosophy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications
Working Conditions

This role requires extensive local travel to clinics in a specified geographic area. A valid driver's license is required.
